The Backline is a cultural touchstone of downtown Omaha, Nebraska! By taking improv classes at the Backline, I formed an amazing community of friends in Omaha who had my back both onstage and off. Long live omaha improv!

Life can be kind of awful. It’s hard to show up everyday and handle all the big and small complications of job, family, health, money, etc. Carving out some time each week, month- whatever you can give yourself- to be in a place where everyone is actively looking for joy and actively practicing ways to support one another is very healing.

the backline taught me a lot of fundamental comedy tools that have benefited me both as a performer, and as a human! people like me more now that i’m funnier! i love to see the community that cultivates at the backline, and i’m forever proud to be part of it.

I had the best time at the Backline Comedy Club in Omaha. The comedians were hilarious, and the atmosphere was so lively. It's definitely a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a good laugh!

I took Zach Petersons standup class in fall of 2023, it gave me great tools to give a real jump start on my comedy career! My writing and performance both improved. I feel like I got a 2 year head start from the knowledge I learned. I have been able to take the knowledge given for writing monologue jokes and turn it into a paid weekly podcasting spot!
